Certified Modular Training Programs

What are they?

These are short-term training units (UFCDs) that allow the adult Portuguese population to update or improve their theoretical and practical knowledge, as well as raise their levels of school and professional qualifications.

WHO ARE THEY INTENDED FOR?

These courses are intended for employed individuals with a minimum qualification of 9th grade education, with a special focus on employed individuals at risk of job loss, and unemployed individuals.

What are the objectives of this training program?

To contribute to enhancing the employability of the active population, especially the unemployed, the employed, and those at risk of unemployment, by increasing their adaptability through the development of skills required by the labor market:

a) The UFCDs (Training Units for Employees) aim to address the qualification needs of workers in the context of organizational change and restructuring processes, with a view to increasing the productivity and competitiveness of companies, as well as the skills and qualification levels of employed assets, contributing to job retention;

b) The UFCDs for the unemployed aim to strengthen the professional qualifications of unemployed individuals, potentially enabling a more sustainable return to the labor market through participation in FMC courses tailored to their needs profile.

How are they organized?

The curricular organization of modular training courses is carried out, for each training unit, in accordance with the respective training frameworks contained in the National Qualifications Catalogue (CNQ), and may correspond to units of the basic training component, the technological training component, or both.

Modular training programs can be used to obtain one or more qualifications listed in the CNQ (National Qualifications Framework) and allow for the creation of flexible pathways of varying duration, characterized by adaptation to different training modalities, target audiences, methodologies, training contexts, and forms of validation.

What certification do they confer?

Whenever an adult successfully completes a modular training course, they are issued a certificate of qualifications that details all the competency units or short-term training courses successfully completed. If the trainee completes a full CNQ (National Qualifications Framework) course, they will obtain the corresponding certification.

What are its program contents?

The course content for each UFCD (Training Unit) is available for consultation on the National Qualifications Catalog website: http://www.catalogo.anqep.gov.br/UFCD
