Video report by EPSM students awarded in national competition.

The Salvaterra de Magos Professional School (EPSM) is once again in the national spotlight, with a video report produced by students of the Communication course achieving 2nd place in the JRA National Competition – Best Reports 2026.

The project was developed by students Solange Oliveira, Diana Nunes, and Hélder Sousa, focusing on the recycling and reuse of waste—a current issue of great social and environmental relevance.

As part of this project, the students conducted a study with the school community, involving more than 200 students from EPSM. The results show a growing environmental awareness among young people, and 72% of those interviewed support mandatory recycling in educational establishments.

This distinction recognizes not only the quality of the work developed, but also the students' commitment to addressing relevant topics, promoting active, informed, and participatory citizenship.

The Young Reporters for the Environment (YRA) program is an international initiative of the Foundation for Environmental Education, implemented in Portugal by ABAAE, which aims to promote the exercise of active and participatory citizenship, with a special focus on environmental journalism.
